Our Mission

We are the steady light for HOA boards navigating complex construction waters — illuminating the path, avoiding hazards, and ensuring every project reaches a safe and successful harbor.

My Story: How Lighthouse HOA Consulting Began

I’ve spent nearly three decades in construction, but the truth is, it all started when I was 20 years old swinging a hammer as a laborer. By the time I turned 21, I was framing and installing drywall. At 22, I had already stepped into the role of a “working superintendent”—scheduling subcontractors while still doing the hands-on work myself, from hanging doors to framing walls.

At 28, I became a full-time superintendent, running restaurants and office buildouts. Just a few years later, at 32, I was entrusted with larger and more complex projects—ground-up multifamily and multi-story buildings. For years, I thrived in the fast-paced, demanding world of commercial construction.

By the time I reached 40, I had transitioned into project management, running 4–6 major projects at a time. On paper, it was success—but by 45, I was feeling the weight of burnout. That’s when I stumbled onto something that changed my career: construction management for HOAs.

I quickly realized how rewarding it was to use the knowledge I had gained from over 25 years in construction to help boards and homeowners make sense of their projects. Instead of just building structures, I was now helping people protect their homes and investments. It gave me a sense of purpose I hadn’t felt in years.

Today, at 48, I can honestly say the only thing I would change is that I wish I had started doing this sooner. I know I can’t always deliver good news to a community—sometimes repairs are necessary, and they aren’t cheap—but I do everything I can to guide boards in the best direction possible, helping them stretch their budgets and avoid unnecessary costs.

That’s why I started Lighthouse HOA Consulting. Unlike many CM groups, we’re not here just to make money—we’re here to help. I believe there is a limit to how many projects one person can truly handle well. Too often in my career, I was tasked with juggling more than was reasonable, and I saw the quality suffer. I promised myself Lighthouse would be different. Whether I’m managing your project personally or mentoring someone on my team, you will never feel like “just another client.” We will always make time for you.

I’m not looking to build a million-dollar empire. I’m looking to earn a modest living while helping people keep their communities beautiful and safe for years to come. My background as a contractor gives me unique insight—not only into the challenges you face but also into the tricks of the trade that some contractors use to overcharge. I know what things really cost, and I know how they should be built. That knowledge protects your HOA from unnecessary expenses and mistakes.

At Lighthouse HOA Consulting, I can help you:

My mission is simple: to shine a light on the path forward for HOAs, helping them make informed decisions, save money, and keep their communities strong.
